When layering with color around the room, remember, contrast is key!
If you have a dark floor, lighter toned furniture is ideal to set it off. If you have darker pieces, a lighter floor makes for a nice contrast. Choose a rug to contrast your flooring choice. If you put a dark rug on a dark floor, the rug will be lost.
The same is true when choosing paint colors. When using bold color on walls, you’ll want to use white on your molding or as a drapery or furniture option, to illuminate the color of the walls.
