Decorating With Green? How Do You Choose the Right Floor?

Green is for more than St. Paddy’s day. It’s a great color to add to your home. Green can be surprisingly soft or stunningly spectacular. It’s a great complement to red, which lives across the color wheel, or an excellent companion for blues and yellows. Greens can add a little pop to a room or create a foil for brighter bolder tones. There are so many greens from which to choose, you can match any mood!

A Green to Envy

LA based celebrity designer Erinn Valencich created this green room to showcase these amazing emerald chairs. She opted for a softer green wall to create a neutral backdrop for the rich tones in the furniture and exquisite look of walnut flooring. The pairing of spring hues in pillows and accents adds a wonderful freshness to the space while the combination of gold metals and unique Asian-influenced accents complete a very sophisticated look. This room was designed a few years ago, but the classic choices keep it looking current. (Go Erinn! Go Bragh!)

Tasty Apple Green

Add just a pop of green for drama on a neutral couch. Green paired with gray, blue or white makes a magnificent statement. Layering in green accessories, like pillows and glassware does wonders to refresh a tired space.

Imagine a rich chocolate floor as a great complement to this neutral room. Try our Smoked Maple Chocolate Planks or our new rustic Mineral Oak Planks.

Meditate On This Green

Reflect on this delicate color. It’s not really blue, not really green. But one thing is for sure: It’s inviting. What a great contrast with the rich Asian wood bench. This shade would look equally magnificent with either our bleached or whitewashed floors, or with our dark and muted floors. In fact, it’s so cool it’s perfect for floors with rich chocolate or warm red undertones. We think it works quite nicely with our Malaysian Merbau Planks.

Go Big or Go Home Green!

Go Big or Go Home Green!

Why not go all in? If you love green — do it! A bold green wall can brighten up a small space or nook. Pair it with lighter shades of the color or blues and yellows — even a pop or two of red. This updated bohemian look just works. Team up greener walls with more neutral floors to create a nice balance. Imagine our Urban Concrete Planks with a vivid green wall. Nice.
