Flooring 101: Uniclic makes installation a snap

You can hear it when a Quick•Step floor is being installed correctly. Click, click. Two planks down. Click, click. Three planks down.

No glue, no nails: with the Uniclic locking system, planks click together with one simple movement. Once installed, the Uniclic system ensures a very tight locking joint to prevent moisture going into the core.

The planks can be joined in two different ways. That’s right: it’s ridiculously easy to install.

The preferred method is the angle in method, where you take the tongue of the first plank and approach the second plank’s groove at an angle of 20° to 30°. No plastic parts are required, which ensures no gapping between the planks. Move the plank up and down while applying light forward pressure and automatically you’ll hear … click.

In the event you don’t have room to angle the boards, Quick•Step supplies a special tapping block to make flat horizontal installation a possibility. Lay two planks next to each other and gently tap the block until you hear a click. | Quick•Step Style Blog
