If you’re always covered in paint and forever rearranging the furniture in your home, you may have something in common with Miss Mustard Seed (aka Marian). “DIY Blogger” is just one of the many hats Marian wears. She also is a published author and successful business owner, with her own line of Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint. And don’t forget her love of antiques and gift for painting murals. For this DIY project, this creative maven wanted to renovate a corner of her studio space, creating the perfect small area to stage photo shoots galore!
Marian had a few unique needs for her photo-ready space.
1) Neutral floors that wouldn’t cast any sort of hue in photos (especially red, orange or yellow).
2) A warm and textured look. In her words: “No cheesy, fake-as-all-get-out laminate wood floor.”
3) Easy-to-install floors that will “click-together.”
Marian found a great fit with the French Country Oak Plank from our Reclaimé collection. “It’s a perfect balance of neutral and not-boring,” she says. “It has a great neutral grayish-brown color, but it has interesting graining.” As for the installation process, you can see in this video how the flooring clicks together. “The nice thing about these click together floors is just as it sounds” says Marian. “You just click the boards together.”
